What Shop Harbour is
Shop Harbour is a stock, sales and invoicing system for small businesses. It is used through a web browser and through the Shop Harbour Android app, which shows the same website inside the app. This policy covers both.
Information we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and the business you belong to. We need these to sign you in and to show you your business’s data and nobody else’s.
- Business records you enter — products, stock levels, purchases, sales, invoices, receipts, payments, customers and suppliers. This is the purpose of the product; the records belong to your business.
- Technical diagnostics — when something goes wrong, an error report is sent to our error-monitoring provider so we can fix it. Personal details (passwords, tokens, tax PINs, phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses and account numbers) are removed from it before it leaves our servers.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photos, your device’s advertising identifier, or anything from other apps on your device. The Android app asks for no permissions beyond internet access.
How we use it
Only to run the service for your business: signing you in, keeping your records, producing your invoices and reports, sending the notifications you have turned on, and fixing faults. We do not use your data for advertising and there is no advertising in the product.
Who we share it with
Nobody, except the service providers that run the product on our behalf: our hosting provider, our email delivery provider, and our error-monitoring provider. Each of them processes data only to provide that service to us and is not permitted to use it for anything else. We do not sell data.
Security
All traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). The Android app can only load the encrypted address; it is built so that a plain-HTTP version cannot be released. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Access to a business’s records is limited to the people its owner has invited, with the roles the owner gave them.
Keeping and deleting data
Your records are kept for as long as your business uses Shop Harbour, because they are your books. A business owner can remove staff access at any time from the Staff page. To delete an account, or a business and all of its records, email support@netharbour.net from the owner’s address; we confirm the request and complete it within 30 days. Backups are retained for a limited period after that and then expire.
See our account deletion page for the full request process and what is kept for legal or accounting reasons.
Children
Shop Harbour is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18.
